The New Covenant Church started in October 1985 with the first worship venue at the Women Training Centre, Samonda, in Ibadan, Nigeria.  Shortly after this, the first centre in the United Kingdom started at Elephant and Castle, London.  We presently have over 500 branches of the Church in Africa, Europe, America, Middle East and Asia.  Over 400 of the branches are located in Nigeria. The General Overseer is Rev. Dr. Paul Jinadu. Rev. Emmanuel O. Ajao is the Deputy General Overseer while Rev. M. Olufemi Oyelade is the National Overseer of the New Covenant Church in Nigeria.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1942 into a Muslim family, Paul Jinadu was a devout Muslim from childhood. He left Nigeria for the United Kingdom in 1957 to continue his secondary education. While in England, he was invited to a crusade where he witnessed the miracle working power of God. The Lord appeared to him, melted his heart and he gave his life to Jesus as Saviour and Lord. Soon after becoming a Christian he abandoned his plan of becoming a medical doctor to answer the call of God into full-time ministry.

Since 1962, Brother Paul has been proclaiming the saving grace of Christ and teaching men of his love. His passion is to see Christians come to the knowledge of the truth and be discipled; and to train Christian leaders to last the race. His ministry in half a century has produced many churches in almost every continent of the world. His wife and partner in ministry is Kate. They have two sons, who together with their wives are also ministers who are fervent for the Lord. Brother Paul and Sister Kate are blessed with grandchildren.

Emmanuel Olasupo Ajao, was born in 1944. He had a Muslim parentage but became born again in 1974.

He worked with Mobil Oil for over a decade before becoming an Independent Petroleum Marketer who owned and ran a chain of filling stations in Ibadan. Shortly after conversion he met Rev. Paul Jinadu and has remained his disciple ever since. His spiritual growth as a leader began when he coordinated and taught the Believers’ Bible Class in the first branch of New Covenant Church at Samonda, in Ibadan, Nigeria where many new Christians were given a sound footing in the faith. He was an elder in the Church and later became a pastor.

Brother Ajao led the team that pioneered the Basorun Centre of New Covenant Church at Ibadan in 1992. The branch grew to become Basorun Conference, now known as Old Ife Road Conference with many satellite branches. He also served as Conference Pastor of Oke-Bola Conference.

1n 1996, Rev. Emmanuel  Ajao became the National Overseer of New Covenant Church, in Nigeria. A servant-leader and an evangelist with a great passion for souls, he directly oversaw the planting of several branches of the Church in and outside Nigeria. He was appointed Deputy General Overseer in 2008.  He retired from administrative duties after his 70th birthday in May 2014.

He is married to Mrs. Abimbola Ajao, nee Olusola and they are blessed with children and grandchildren.

Born in 1957, in Ibadan, Nigeria Michael Olufemi Oyelade had his secular training as an accountant, becoming a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK and the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN). After a stint in the academic as a lecturer in two Nigerian universities he practiced as a chartered accountant and management consultant in Nigeria before his call into full time ministry. Earlier on, as a nominal Christian he had met the Lord Jesus as His saviour in 1985.

Brother Oyelade led the team that pioneered the New Covenant Church in Agodi, Ibadan, Nigeria in 1996 where he still serves as pastor. From his base in Agodi, he serves as Conference Pastor of Agodi Conference and in 2009 he was appointed the National Overseer of New Covenant Church in Nigeria.
